Jurnal Ilmiah Al-Mu'ashirah: Media Kajian Al-Qur'an dan Al-Hadits Multi Perspektif is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal devoted to the development of Qur'anic and Hadith studies through multiple disciplinary and methodological perspectives.

Focus and Scholarly Orientation

The journal publishes original scholarship in Qur'anic and Hadith studies and encourages multi-perspective approaches that connect classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary intellectual, social, cultural, educational, linguistic, historical, and interdisciplinary inquiry. Its principal areas include tafsir, ulumul Qur'an, history of the Qur'an, living Qur'an, ulumul Hadith, history of Hadith, and living Hadith.

2002
Institutional cooperation milestone

An earlier institutional description of the journal refers to cooperation between SEARFIQH and the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Filsafat from 2002 under a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This date is retained as an institutional milestone rather than the journal's formal bibliographic starting year.

2004
Formal publication history

The journal's formal publication history begins in 2004. This chronology is consistent with the journal's legacy “Journal History” statement and the confirmed ISSN record for the online title, which records publication from 2004 onward.

2016
Open-access digital publication

The journal began its open-access online publication with Volume 13, Issue 1 (2016). From this digital phase onward, published articles have been assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and registered through Crossref.

2022
DOAJ inclusion

Al-Mu'ashirah was added to the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) on 29 November 2022, strengthening the international discoverability of its open-access content.

2023
Continuous publication model

While maintaining two issues each year, the journal adopted a continuous-publication model in which articles may be published online after completing review and editorial production and are then assigned to the relevant January–June or July–December issue.

2026
Migration to the new journal portal

In 2026, the journal began operating through the new Faculty of Ushuluddin and Filsafat journal portal at jurnalushuluddin.ar-raniry.ac.id. The new OJS platform is being used for the journal's current workflow and future publication, while the established digital backfiles remain preserved on the former UIN Ar-Raniry OJS domain.

This migration does not alter the scholarly identity, ISSNs, DOI namespace, publisher, or publication history of Jurnal Ilmiah Al-Mu'ashirah. During the transition, readers seeking previously published issues should use the journal's dedicated Legacy Archives page.

Historical clarification

Earlier journal descriptions contain two different dates: 2002 for the institutional cooperation referenced in the MoA and 2004 for the journal's publication history. For bibliographic accuracy, this page uses 2004 as the formal beginning of publication and records 2002 separately as the institutional cooperation milestone.
